# Data Model

> Understand the records, fields, custom models, and relationships used throughout Revont.

Revont's workspace is record-based. The main navigation exposes Clients, Deals, Contacts, and any custom models made available to the workspace.

## Core records

* **Clients** represent the customer accounts your team works with.
* **Deals** represent pipeline work connected to a client.
* **Contacts** represent people connected to clients and deals.
* **Meetings and emails** are activity that can link back to those records.
* **Actions** represent follow-up work.
* **Custom models** extend the workspace with additional record types.

## Custom models

Admins with the required feature and permission can open Settings → Data Model. The Data Model surface lets an admin inspect the workspace objects, see field counts, create objects, open an object editor, and view the relationship visualization.

Custom models can also appear in the Custom Models sidebar group. Their labels and icons come from the workspace definition.

## Relationships

Records can be connected through the relationships configured for the workspace. When a page offers a client, deal, or contact selector, choosing one narrows the available related options where the app supports that relationship.
