# Create A Report

> Build a report from your Revont records and add it to a dashboard.

Open **Analytics & Reports** from the sidebar.

## Build A Report

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Analytics & Reports">
    Under **Insights**, select **Analytics & Reports**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create a dashboard">
    Select **New Dashboard**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a starting point">
    In the **New Dashboard** dialog, select **Blank Dashboard** or choose a prepared dashboard template.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the widget panel">
    In the dashboard editor, select **Add a Widget**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Build a Report">
    In the widget panel, find **Build a Report** and choose the report type you want.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure the report">
    Choose the record type, metric, grouping, date range, and filters requested by the report builder.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the result">
    Review the preview, then save the report configuration.
  </Step>

The records and fields available in the report builder follow your workspace data model and permissions.
